Product Details
TrpM6
Transient receptor potential cation channel subfamily M member 6 or TrpM6 is encoded by the gene TRPM6. TrpM6 is a member of the transient receptor potential ion channel family and acts as a serine/threonine-protein kinase. TrpM6 has an essential function in magnesium transport and is involved with magnesium absorption in the gut and kidney. TRPM6 is primarily expressed in the kidney, colon, GI tract and placenta kidney. Mutations in this gene are associated with hypomagnesemia with secondary hypocalcemia.
