Product Details
Cav2.3
Cav2.3, encoded by CACNA1E, is a member of the R-type voltage-gated calcium channels that mediate calcium influx in response to membrane depolarization. It is predominantly expressed in neurons, where it contributes to dendritic excitability, neurotransmitter release, and synaptic integration. Structurally, Cav2.3 consists of the pore-forming α1E subunit, composed of four homologous domains with six transmembrane segments each, forming the channel’s voltage-sensing and ion-conducting regions. Unlike L-, N-, or P/Q-type channels, Cav2.3 exhibits unique pharmacological sensitivity and activation kinetics, allowing it to fine-tune neuronal signaling. Dysregulation of Cav2.3 activity has been implicated in epileptogenesis, pain modulation, and neurodegenerative diseases, making it a critical target for understanding calcium-dependent neuronal processes and potential therapeutic interventions.

This recombinant antibody is a chimeric antibody created by replacing the mouse heavy and light constant regions of clone N493/22 with chicken IgY heavy and light constant regions. As such this antibody retains the same binding performance as the original clone N493/22 but can be detected using standard anti-chicken secondary antibodies allowing flexibility for multiplexing applications. This antibody is expressed recombinantly in mammalian cells and then affinity purified from the cell culture media and conjugated.
