Product Details
VGlut3
Vesicular glutamate transporter 3 (VGLUT3) or Solute Carrier Family 17 Member 8 is encoded by the gene SLC17A8 and belongs to the vesicular glutamate transporter family. Vglut3 transports glutamate into synaptic vesicles at presynaptic nerve terminals of excitatory neural cells. Vglut3 is expressed in many tissues including brain, kidney and liver. In brain, it is expressed within glutamatergic neurons in the amygdala, brainstem, cerebral cortex, dorsal root ganglia, dorsal spinal cord, hippocampus, and hypothalamus. Diseases associated with SLC17A8 include Deafness.
