Product Details
c-FOS
C-fos belongs the Fos family. Other members include FosB, Fra-1, Fra-2. c-fos binds to JUN/AP1 transcription factor. C-Fos is expressed in placental tissue, fetal liver, developing bone, developing central nervous system, and adult bone marrow. It is expressed in the nucleus and in the endoplasmic reticulum. c-Fos has a role in signal transduction, cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis. C-Fos is overexpressed in many cancers.

This recombinant antibody is a chimeric antibody created by replacing the mouse heavy and light constant regions of clone N486/32 with chicken IgY heavy and light constant regions. As such this antibody retains the same binding performance as the original clone N486/32 but can be detected using standard anti-chicken secondary antibodies allowing flexibility for multiplexing applications. This antibody is expressed recombinantly in mammalian cells and then affinity purified from the cell culture media and conjugated.

UniProt Summary: Nuclear phosphoprotein which forms a tight but non-covalently linked complex with the JUN/AP-1 transcription factor. In the heterodimer, FOS and JUN/AP-1 basic regions each seems to interact with symmetrical DNA half sites. On TGF-beta activation, forms a multimeric SMAD3/SMAD4/JUN/FOS complex at the AP1/SMAD-binding site to regulate TGF-beta-mediated signaling. Has a critical function in regulating the development of cells destined to form and maintain the skeleton. It is thought to have an important role in signal transduction, cell proliferation and differentiation. In growing cells, activates phospholipid synthesis, possibly by activating CDS1 and PI4K2A. This activity requires Tyr-dephosphorylation and association with the endoplasmic reticulum.
