Product Details
GABA(A)R, Alpha1
GABA(A)R, Alpha1 (Gamma-aminobutyric acid receptor subunit alpha-1) makes up two of the five subunits in the membrane bound GABA A receptor, the others being two β2 subunits and a single γ2 subunit. The receptor is a ligand gated chloride ion channel found postsynaptically and binds GABA, the major inhibitory neurotransmitter in the CNS. Mutations in GABA(A)R, Alpha1 have been linked to several types of epilepsy.
