Transfected cell immunoblot: extracts of COS cells transiently transfected with GFP- tagged Synaptotagmin or untagged Kv2.1 plasmids and probed with N278/19 (left) and N86/8 (right).
Synaptotagmin-3 (Synaptotagmin III) (SytIII)
Synaptotagmins are a family of calcium sensing, membrane trafficking proteins. 17 different synaptotagmins have been identified in mammals. Synaptotagmin 3 is predominantly expressed in postsynaptic endocytic zones of neurons and has recently been shown to internalize AMPA receptors to depress synaptic strength and promote forgetting (Awasthi A. et al., 2019).
Fusion protein amino acids 442-533 (cytoplasmic C2B domain) of mouse Synaptotagmin-3 (also known as Syt3, Synaptotagmin III and SytIII, accession number O35681); Human: 100% identity (92/92 amino acids identical); Rat: 98% identity (91/92 amino acids identical); Greater than 70% identity with Synaptotagmin-9, Synaptotagmin-10 and Synaptotagmin-6
Human, Mouse, Rat
Store at ≤ -20 C for long term storage. For short term storage, store at 2-8 C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the vial prior to removing the cap.
Does not cross-react with other Synaptotagmins
