Tissue and transfected cell immunoblot: low speed pellet samples from adult rat brain (RBLSP) and extracts of COS cells transiently transfected with Myc-tagged PEX6 or untagged Kv2.1 plasmids and probed with N233/8 (left) and K89/34 (right).
Peroxisomal Biogenesis Factor 6 is encoded by the gene PEX6. PEX6 is a member of the AAA ATPase family. PEX6 is a predominantly cytoplasmic protein, which plays a direct role in peroxisomal protein import and is required for PTS1 receptor activity. PEX6 is expressed in the retina. Diseases associated with PEX6 include Peroxisome Biogenesis Disorder 4A and Heimler Syndrome 2.
Fusion protein amino acids 2-294 (N-terminus) of human PEX6 (also known as Peroxisome assembly factor 2, Peroxisomal biogenesis factor 6, Peroxisomal-type ATPase 1, Peroxin-6, PAF-2, PXAAA1, accession number Q8BR86-3); Rat: 82% identity (243/293 amino acids identical); Mouse: 82% identity (244/294 amino acids identical)
Less than 50% identity with other PEX proteins
Store at ≤ -20 C for long term storage. For short term storage, store at 2-8 C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the vial prior to removing the cap.
Each new lot of this antibody is tested to confirm that it shows the expected staining pattern when used to stain COS cells overexpressing target.
These antibodies are to be used as research laboratory reagents and are not for use as diagnostic or therapeutic reagents in humans.
