Product Details
GAD67
Glutamate decarboxylase 1, GAD67 or GAD1 is a member of the group II decarboxylase family and catalyzes the production of GABA from L-glutamic acid. GAD67 is expressed in brain (throughout the cell), in insulin producing ßcells of the pancreas, and several non-neuronal tissues during development. Alterations in GAD67 have been shown to lead to pyridoxine dependency with seizures. Other disorders associated with GAD67 are Cerebral Palsy, Spastic Quadriplegic, 1 and Inherited Congenital Spastic Tetraplegia.
