Short transient receptor potential channel 1 or TrpC1 is encoded by the gene TRPC1.TrpC1 belongs to the transient receptor family, a group of membrane bound ion channels that have a relatively non-selective permeability to cations, including sodium, calcium and magnesium. TrpC1 expression seems to be ubiquitous, and is widely expressed in throughout the brain.
