Anti-Cortactin Recombinant Chicken Chimeric mAb (4F11-G5-F10)
Our chicken Anti-Cortactin recombinant monoclonal antibody is a chimeric antibody derived from NeuroMab clone 4F11-G5-F10. It detects bovine, chicken, hamster, human, mouse, and rat Cortactin and is purified by affinity chromatography. Works in WB, IHC, ICC, IP.
Immunofluorescent staining of HeLa cells using Aves Labs anti-Cortactin recombinant chicken monoclonal antibody (green, Cat No. 78-601). The stained cells were mounted with Antibodies Incorporated Fluoroshield with DAPI and DABCO mounting medium (Cat No. AR-6505). DAPI nuclear stain (blue) shows cell nuclei. Anti-Cortactin specifically stains the endogenous cortactin protein in HeLa cells.
Cortactin is an ~80–85 kDa actin-binding protein that orchestrates cytoskeletal remodeling and signal integration. It contains an N-terminal repeat domain that associates with filamentous actin, followed by a helical segment, a proline-rich region with multiple signaling motifs, and a C-terminal SH3 domain. Through interactions with the Arp2/3 complex and other regulators, cortactin promotes actin branching, lamellipodia formation, and endocytic trafficking. Tyrosine phosphorylation by Src family kinases inhibits its actin crosslinking activity, linking receptor-mediated signals to cytoskeletal rearrangements. Aberrant cortactin activity has been implicated in tumor cell invasion, metastasis, and vascular permeability disorders, highlighting its importance in both normal cellular dynamics and disease progression.

This recombinant antibody is a chimeric antibody created by replacing the mouse heavy and light constant regions of clone 4F11-G5-F10 with chicken IgY heavy and light constant regions. As such this antibody retains the same binding performance as the original clone 4F11-G5-F10 but can be detected using standard anti-chicken secondary antibodies allowing flexibility for multiplexing applications. This antibody is expressed recombinantly in mammalian cells and then affinity purified from the cell culture media.
Each new lot of this antibody is tested to confirm that it recognizes a single immunoreactive band of expected molecular weight when tested by Western Blot.
These antibodies are to be used as research laboratory reagents and are not for use as diagnostic or therapeutic reagents in humans.
