Our mouse Cytokeratin 19 (CK19) monoclonal antibody from Antibodies Incorporated is produced in-house from clone CK 202. It detects human Cytokeratin 19 (CK19) and is purified by Protein A chromatography. Works in IHC, ICC, WB, ELISA.

Immunofluorescent staining of MCF7 cells using 10 ug/mL mouse monoclonal anti-Cytokeratin-19 (CK19) antibody (MM-1002) (green). The cells were mounted with Antibodies Incorporated Fluoroshield with DAPI mounting medium (Cat. AR-6501). DAPI nuclear stain (blue) shows cell nuclei. Anti-CK19 stains the cytoskeleton of MCF7 cells.

Western blotting of HepG2 cell lysate using 0.2 ug/mL, 1 ug/mL, or 5 ug/mL mouse anti-Cytokeratin-19 antibody (MM-1002). MM-1002 mouse anti-CK19 antibody recognizes endogenous CK19 at ~40 kDa.

Scientific Background

Cytokeratin 19 is a type I acidic subfamily of intermediate filament protein that is expressed in stratified and simple type epithelia. Keratin 19 is not expressed in hepatocytes; therefore, antibody to keratin 19 is useful in the identification of liver metastasis. The degree of keratin 19 positivity in breast cancer distinguishes malignant from benign tumors. Keratin 19 is often co-expressed with keratin 7.
