Anti-Neurofilament light polypeptide (NF-L) Antibody
Our Anti-Neurofilament light polypeptide (NF-L) rabbit polyclonal primary antibody detects bovine, human, mouse, pig, and rat Neurofilament light polypeptide (NF-L), and is whole serum. It is validated for use in IF, ICC, IHC, WB.
Image of a mouse cerebellum section by Immunofluorescence and Immunohistochemistry. The section was stained with R-1392-50, Neurofilament light polypeptide (NF-L), Rabbit pAb, (red, 1:5,000), and co-stained with product C-1383-50, Myelin basic protein, Chicken pAb, (green, 1:5,000). Method: Following transcardial perfusion of mouse with 4% paraformaldehyde, brain was post-fixed for 24 hours, cut to 45 um, and free-floating sections were stained. The NF-L antibody labels dendrites and axons of neuronal cells, and the MBP antibody stains myelin sheathes around axons.

Product Details
Neurofilament light polypeptide (NF-L)
Neurofilaments are composed of three intermediate filament proteins: light (~68 kDa), medium (~160 kDa) and heavy (~200 kDa), which are involved in the maintenance of the neuronal caliber. Neurofilament light (NF68 or NF-L) is the most abundant of the three proteins.

Rabbit
The antibody has been made against a preparation of recombinant full length human NF-L. The antibody binds NF-L from a variety of species including human, rat and mouse.

Spin vial briefly before opening. Reconstitute with 50 µL sterile-filtered, ultrapure water. Centrifuge to remove any insoluble material. Store lyophilized antibody at 2-8°C After reconstitution of lyophilized antibody, aliquot and store at -20°C for a higher stability. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles. Store at 4°C for up to one month for short term storage and frequent use.
Lyophilized
Lyophilized with sodium azide.

UniProt Summary: Neurofilaments usually contain three intermediate filament proteins: NEFL, NEFM, and NEFH which are involved in the maintenance of neuronal caliber. May additionally cooperate with the neuronal intermediate filament proteins PRPH and INA to form neuronal filamentous networks.
