Our mouse Kv1.2 K+ channel monoclonal antibody from NeuroMab is produced in-house from clone K14/16. It detects gerbil, human, mouse, non-human primate, rat, Xenopus, and zebrafish Kv1.2 K+ channel and is purified by Protein A chromatography. KO validated. Works in WB, IHC, ICC, IP, ELISA.
Immunolabeling of postnatal 14 mouse CA3 (Axonal Initial Segment, Parvalbumin positive interneuron) labeling Kv1.2 (75-008, 1:200, yellow) Parvalbumin (magenta), and Ankyrin G (cyan). Mice were transcardially perfused with cold 4% PFA in PBS, then brain removed and postfixed overnight. 50 uM slices as floating sections, antigen retrieval performed with sodium citrate at 80 C for 30 min. before immunolabeling. Kv1.2 K+ channel
Kv1.2 K+ channel (Potassium voltage-gated channel subfamily A member 2), which is encoded by KCNA2 gene, is part of the Potassium voltage-gated channel family. Kv1.2 K+ channel switches between its open and closed conformation in response to the voltage difference across the membrane, which selectively allows the traffic of K+. Kv1.2 K+ channel determines potassium ion permeability of excitable membranes according to their electrochemical gradient. Therefore, this protein has for function to regulate neurotransmitter release, neuronal excitability, smooth muscle contraction, heart muscle contraction or insulin secretion. Kv1.2 is recognized as a tansmembrane/ multi-pass membrane protein. Anti-Kv1.2 K+ channel K14/16 is often used in IHC on human normal cerebral cortex.
