Human Mouse Rat
Vesicular acetylcholine transporter (VaCht), or Solute Carrier Family 18 Member A3 is encoded by the gene Slc18a3 and is a member of the vesicular amine transporter family. VaCht transports acetylcholine into secretory vesicles for release into the extracellular space. VaCht is expressed in major cholinergic cell groups in the peripheral and central cholinergic nervous systems. Diseases associated with SLC18A3 include Myasthenic Syndrome and Presynaptic and Presynaptic Congenital Myasthenic Syndromes.
Synthetic peptide amino acids 521-532 (CEDDYNYYYTRS) of human VAChT (accession number Q16572); Rat: 83% identity (10/12 amino acids identical); Mouse=83% identity (10/12 amino acids identical)
