Potassium Voltage-Gated Channel Subfamily A Member 7 or Kv1.7 potassium channel is encoded by the gene KCNA7. Kv1.7 is a potassium channel subunit is a member of the potassium channel, voltage-gated, shaker-related subfamily. Potassium channels form homotetrameric and heterotetrameric channels in the membrane with various other related proteins, including KCNA2, KCNA4, KCNA5, KCNA6, KCNA7. Kv1.7 is detected in heart, skeletal muscle, kidney, brain, and pancreatic islet cells.
Fusion protein amino acids 1-44 (cytoplasmic N-terminus) and 450-480 (cytoplasmic C-terminus) of mouse Kv1.7 (also known as Potassium voltage-gated channel subfamily A member 7, Voltage-gated potassium channel subunit Kv1.7, Kcna7, Kcnc7 and rCG_54067, accession number Q17ST2) Rat: 95% identity (42/44 amino acids identical) and 97% identity (30/31 amino acids identical) Human: 100% identity (12/12 amino acids identical) and 84% identity (26/31 amino acids identical) <50% identity with other potassium channel subunits
