Mitogen-activated protein kinase 8 interacting protein 2 is encoded by the gene MAPK8IP2. MAPK8IP2 is a member of the JIP scaffold family. MAPK8IP2 is a scaffold protein that is involved in the regulation of the c-Jun amino-terminal kinase signaling pathway. MAPK8IP2 has been shown to interact with and regulate the activity of MAPK8/JNK1 and MAP2K7/MKK7 kinases. MAPK8IP2 is expressed in the brain and testis. Diseases associated with MAPK8IP2 include Cervical Verrucous Carcinoma and Isthmus Cancer.
Fusion protein amino acids 226-421 of mouse JIP-2/IB-2 (also known as C-jun-aminoterminal kinase-interacting protein 2, JNK-interacting protein 2,JNK MAP kinase scaffold protein 2, Islet-brain-2 and Mitogen-activated protein kinase 8-interacting protein 2, accession number Q9ERE9) Rat: 94% identity (127/135 amino acids identical) Human: 86% identity (173/200 amino acids identical) Greater than 50% identity with JIP-1
Does not react with JIP-1

Antibody Validation and Application Notes
This antibody has been validated using the following assays:
This antibody has been knockout-validated in mouse brain (by Western blot and/or immunohistochemistry).
This antibody recognizes a single immunoreactive band of expected molecular weight when used to probe lysate from COS cells overexpressing target.
This antibody shows the expected staining pattern when used to stain COS cells overexpressing target.

Quality Control
The following quality control assay is performed on each new lot of this antibody to ensure it meets designated performance requirements.
Each new lot of this antibody is tested to confirm that it recognizes a single immunoreactive band of expected molecular weight when used to probe brain lysate.
