Scientific Background

Rho GTPase-activating protein p115 or ARHGAP4 is encoded by the gene ARHGAP4 and is a member of the RHO GTPase-activating proteins (rhoGAP) family of proteins. These proteins play a role in the regulation of small GTP-binding proteins belonging to the RAS superfamily. ARHGAP4 is thought to be involved in axonal outgrowth and the regulation of cell motility. Diseases associated with this gene include types of Diabetes.
