TPTEs (transmembrane phosphatases with tensin homology) aka VSPs (voltage sensing phosphatases) catalyze the dephosphorylation of phosphatidylinositol phosphates (PIPs) that regulate diverse aspects of cell membrane physiology including cell division, growth and migration (Ratzan W. et al., 2019). TPTEs are also thought to be involved in signal transduction pathways of the endocrine or spermatogenetic function of the testis (Chen H. et al., 1999).
