Anti-Parvalbumin Antibody

Our Anti-Parvalbumin chicken polyclonal primary antibody detects human, mouse, and rat Parvalbumin, and is IgY preparation. It is validated for use in IHC-Frozen, WB.

Chicken antibody to parvalbumin (1:2,500, green) stains dendrites and perikarya of Purkinje cells and some interneurons in the molecular layer. Blue: Nuclear DNA stain. The antibody (1:2,500) detects parvalbumin at ~12 kDa in homogenate (Lane 1) and His-tagged parvalbumin protein (Lane 2) at slightly higher molecular weight. The antibody does not cross-react with His-tagged proteins calretinin (Lane 3) and calbindin (Lane 4). Note that this antibody does not recognize parvalbumin in rat or mouse brain lysates on western blots.
Rat cerebellum section stained with chicken anti-parvalbumin (green, 1:2,000) and mouse anti-GFAP (red) by Immunohistochemistry. Blue: DAPI nuclear stain. IHC Method: Following transcardial perfusion with 4% paraformaldehyde, brain was post fixed for 24 hours, cut to 45 um, and free floating sections were stained. The parvalbumin chicken antibody labels the perikarya and dendrites of Purkinje cells and interneurons in the molecular layer of the cerebellum. The GFAP antibody stains the processes of Bergmann glia and astrocytes.
