Leucine Rich Repeat Transmembrane Neuronal 2 is encoded by the gene LRRTM2. LRRTM2 is a member of the LRRTM family. LRRTM2 is involved in the development and maintenance of excitatory synapses in the vertebrate nervous system. LRRTM2 regulates surface expression of AMPA receptors and instructs the development of functional glutamate release sites. LRRTM2 is expressed in neuronal tissues. Diseases associated with LRRTM2 include Histrionic Personality Disorder.
