Transfected cell immunoblot: extracts of COS cells transiently transfected with GFP-tagged Gammaprotocadherin-C4 or untagged Kv2.1 plasmid and probed with N193A/13 (left) and N86/8 (right) TC supe.
Protocadherin Gamma Subfamily C, 4 is encoded by the gene PCDHGC4. PCDHGC4 is a member of the protocadherin gamma gene cluster. PCDHGC4 is a neural cadherin-like cell adhesion protein that most likely plays a critical role in the establishment and function of specific cell-cell connections in the brain. PCDHGC4 is expressed in the nervous system, skin, and eye. No diseases were found to be associated with PCDHGC4.
Fusion protein amino acids 720-804 (variable cytoplasmic domain) of mouse Gamma-protocadherin-C4 (also known as PCDH-gamma-C4, accession number Q91XX0); Human: 98% identity (84/85 amino acids identical)
Less than 50% identity with other Gamma-protocadherin-C proteins
Store at ≤ -20 C for long term storage. For short term storage, store at 2-8 C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the vial prior to removing the cap.
No cross-reactivity against other Gamma-protocadherin-A, -B or -C proteins
Each new lot of this antibody is tested to confirm that it shows the expected staining pattern when used to stain COS cells overexpressing target.
These antibodies are to be used as research laboratory reagents and are not for use as diagnostic or therapeutic reagents in humans.
