Amphoterin-induced protein 1, amphoterin-induced gene and open reading frame, Adhesion Molecule With Ig Like Domain 1 or Amigo-1 is encoded by the gene AMIGO1 and is a member of the AMIGO family. Amigo1 acts as a neuronal adhesion Protein And contains leucine-rich repeat and immunoglobin domains. It is thought to play a role in cell to cell interactions and in neuronal plasticity/regenereation. Amigo1 is expressed in the nervous system and at low levels in liver, kidney, spleen, lung and heart.
