Anti-Epithelial Membrane Antigen (EMA) (EMA 201)
Our mouse Epithelial Membrane Antigen (EMA) monoclonal antibody from Antibodies Incorporated is produced in-house from clone EMA 201. It detects human Epithelial Membrane Antigen (EMA) and is purified by Protein A chromatography. Works in IHC, ICC, WB, ELISA.
Immunofluorescent staining of MCF7 cells 5 ug/mL mouse monoclonal anti-Epithelial Membrane Antigen (EMA) antibody (MM-1001) (green). The cells were mounted with Antibodies Incorporated Fluoroshield with DAPI mounting medium (Cat. AR-6501). DAPI nuclear stain (blue) shows cell nuclei. Anti-EMA stains the membrane of MCF7 cells.

Product Details
Epithelial Membrane Antigen (EMA)
Epithelial membrane antigens are high molecular weight mucin-like glycoproteins. Antibodies to EMA have been shown to be useful as pan-epithelial markers for detection of early metastatic loci of carcinoma in the bone marrow or liver.

UniProt Summary: The alpha subunit has cell adhesive properties. Can act both as an adhesion and an anti-adhesion protein. May provide a protective layer on epithelial cells against bacterial and enzyme attack.; The beta subunit contains a C-terminal domain which is involved in cell signaling, through phosphorylations and protein-protein interactions. Modulates signaling in ERK, SRC and NF-kappa-B pathways. In activated T-cells, influences directly or indirectly the Ras/MAPK pathway. Promotes tumor progression. Regulates TP53-mediated transcription and determines cell fate in the genotoxic stress response. Binds, together with KLF4, the PE21 promoter element of TP53 and represses TP53 activity.
