Product Details
Nav1.4 sodium channel
Sodium channel protein type 4 subunit alpha or Nav1.4 sodium channel is encoded by the gene SCN4A. Nav1.4 is a member of the voltage gated sodium ion channel family. Nav1.4 is an alpha type, pore-forming subunit. It is expressed in skeletal muscle and functions in muscle fiber excitability, normal muscle contraction and relaxation cycles, and constant muscle strength. Diseases associated with this gene include forms of myotonia and periodic paralysis disorders.
