Scientific Background

Stem Cell Factor (SCF) is a hematopoietic growth factor that stimulates the proliferation of mast cells. SCF also mediates cell-cell adhesion and acts synergistically with other cytokines. The actions of SCF are exerted by binding to the SCF Receptor (PE-1243-50) which results in receptor dimerization. SCF is a type I membrane glycoprotein with 5 potential N-linked glycosylation sites. Soluble SCF is produced by proteolytic cleavage of the extracellular domain.

A DNA sequence encoding the signal peptide and the mature Stem Cell Factor (SCF) protein of human SCF was expressed in modified human 293 cells.

Storage

Reconstitute with sterile-filtered phosphate-buffered saline to a concentration of 20 µg/mL. Lyophilized products should be stored at 2-8°C. Following reconstitution, short-term storage at 2-8°C is recommended and longer-term storage of aliquots at -18 to -20°C. Repeated freeze thawing is not recommended.
