Product Details
Tyrosine Kinase Receptor B (TrkB)
Tyrosine Kinase Receptor B (TrkB) is a high affinity receptor for brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) and neurotrophin-4/5. It also binds neurotrophin 3 (NT-3) with lower affinity. TrkB does not bind nerve growth factor (NGF). TrkB is involved in the development and/or maintenance of the nervous system and is widely expressed, predominantly in nervous tissue. TrkB is a heavily glycosylated type I transmembrane protein. The TrkB-Fc chimera contains 13 potential N-linked glycosylation sites.
Purified. The chimera consists of 20-40% carbohydrate by weight.
Block, IP
HEK293
A DNA sequence encoding the signal peptide and extracellular domain of human TrkB (amino acids 1- 428) was fused to the Fc region of human IgG1 (amino acids 93-330). The chimeric protein was expressed in modified human 293 cells.
Reconstitute with sterile-filtered phosphate-buffered saline to a concentration of 20 µg/mL. Lyophilized products should be stored at 2 to 8°C. Following reconstitution, short-term storage at 2-8°C is recommended and longer-term storage of aliquots at -18 to -20°C. Repeated freeze thawing is not recommended.
Lyophilized
>95% purity, as determined by SDS-PAGE and visualized by silver stain.
The TrkB-Fc chimera bound to protein A sepharose beads is able to pull down its ligand BDNF. Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
