Anoctamin-3, Transmembrane Protein 16C or -ANO3/TMEM16C is encoded by the gene ANO3. ANO3 belongs to the anoctamin family of membrane proteins many of which are calcium-activated chloride channels. ANO3 is thought to act as potassium channel regulator and may inhibit pain signaling. ANO3 is expressed in muscle and neuronal tissues. Diseases associated with this gene include Dystonia.
