Peptides and proteins smaller than 5000 D generate weak antibody responses due to inadequate T cell stimulation. Therefore, small MW Peptide Antigen is conjugated to keyhole limpet hemocyanin (KLH) or bovine serum albumin (BSA) to provide peptide-carrier systems for effective immunization and activity testing.

Please note that antibodies produced against these peptides recognize linear, not conformational epitopes. We can assist you with epitope selection, thus preparing the most effective peptide for your antibody development needs. Call Antibodies Incorporated Custom Services today to place a peptide order and start an antibody development project.

Your study can be improved by teaming with our antibody development experts. We are a USDA registered and NIH assured facility with over 40 years of antibody development experience. Our Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee inspects the animal facilities at least once every six months, and evaluate each research protocol prior to project commencement. We will tailor protocols to your specific needs, modified from the recommended standard 91-day protocol for large animal polyclonal antibody development, a standard 57-day protocol for rabbit, fowl, and large rodent polyclonal antibody development, and a standard 45-day protocol for mouse polyclonal antibody development. To place your Polyclonal or Monoclonal Antibody Development order, call Antibodies Incorporated today. |

Production Bleed |
After the production bleed (at 57 days) and an evaluation of the antisera, one of the following options can be chosen:
Option A Antisera is acceptable. End the program. There is no additional cost for this option.
Option B Bleed for maximum volume. For maximizing the titer, we recommend one more injection and a final bleed 8 days post injection. The cost for this option varies per species.
Option C Production. Run a production program with one injection each month and a production bleed 8 days later. The cost for this option varies per species. For rabbits and guinea pigs, the cost is the same as is listed in option B. For other species, please inquire.
Antigen As least 10 µg of antigen / injection may be required for your antisera development. (We recommend between 100 and 500 µg of antigen / injection.) Pathogenic, toxic, or carcinogenic antigens will not be accepted.
Adjuvants Our standard adjuvant is Freunds (complete for 1st injection / incomplete for subsequent injections); however, we can customize the protocol and accommodate other commercially available adjuvants, upon request.
Assay We can assay your antisera using ELISA or other immunoassay format for an additional cost. See the immunoassay section for more information. Prices listed are for customers purchasing in North America. back to top

Custom Hybridoma Development for Monoclonal Antibodies
|
Your protein or molecule can be used to create hybridomas that produce monoclonal antibodies. We have been developing hybridomas and producing monoclonal antibodies since 1976. Monoclonal antibodies have certain advantages over polyclonal antibodies:
- Reproducibility over long term of use.
- Specificity to only single epitopes.
- Can be engineered into therapeutic antibodies.
Our scientists will be happy to discuss your design input requirements. | Important aspects of design input include:
- Type and specificity of antibody required.
- Nature of the antigen
- Proper display of desired epitopes.
- Immunogenicity.
- Assay design
- The assay should be quick and easy to perform on several hundred potential cultures.
- ELISA assays are classically used, though Western Blot, Flow Cytometry, Immunoprecipitation are possible.
- Existing positive controls are very helpful.

We take your existing hybridoma cell line and produce monoclonal antibodies for you either by in vivo ascites or in vitro tissue culture. Purification of the monoclonal antibody is accomplished by Protein A/G chromatography. Ascites may contain nonspecific antibodies from the animal. Although individual monoclonal production rates cannot be predicted, ascites production is generally about 1mg/mL ascites and 3-5 mL per mouse. To request your monoclonal antibody production, please contact us. |
